About Chip
A lifelong resident of Martinsville, Chip Keller has an extensive background in both private business and public service. Chip was appointed to the City of Martinsville’s first-ever Redevelopment Commission in 2010 and served as its president for two terms. From 2015 to 2020 he sat on the City of Martinsville’s Common Council. On January 1, 2021 Chip was appointed to fill the vacant seat on the Morgan County Council, District 1 position.
A graduate of Martinsville High School and Butler University, Chip began his professional career as a CPA with five years at the firm Geo. S. Olive & Co. (now BKD LLP) in Indianapolis. In 1998, he made the leap into small business by starting Keller Office Supply in downtown Martinsville. 2022 marks its 24th year in business. Along with his wife, Michelle, the Kellers also own and operate Brickhouse on Main Event Center and Brickhouse Loft, a Boutique Hotel in downtown Martinsville. As the owner of three small businesses, Chip has learned many valuable lessons he hopes to utilize in creating a more efficient and proactive county administration.
In addition to his private and public service, Chip is involved in several civic and business organizations. He is a past board member of the Greater Martinsville Chamber of Commerce, current member and past treasurer of the Martinsville Rotary Club, and current member of the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce, Elks Club, and American Legion. He has also served on the board of the Morgan County Economic Development Corporation for two terms and as its president in 2014. Since 2010, Chip has been a board member for Citizens Bank and currently serves as its Corporate Secretary and Chairman of the Audit Committee.
When not working or attending meetings, Chip enjoys cheering on his Butler Bulldogs, playing golf, taking long walks around Martinsville, traveling, and spending lots of time with his family. Above all, Chip is a dedicated husband and father. Chip lives in Martinsville with his wife of 24 years, Michelle and their two children, Emmah and Ben. The Kellers currently attend Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.
